Great to see some college fb on a hot day. I will disagree with some-USC, UCLA, Army should be out. Nebraska, Syracuse, and Ohio State must be in there somewhere (Nebraska top 5).

That list must be looking at the structure alone. Because Notre Dame and Michigan should be 1-2 period.

A big time night game in the Carrier dome is one of the loudest places in the country.

Also, it is very tough to win at Blacksburgh.

There is a reason why teams don't want to go to Blacksburgh.

General,
Good job as always. Of course I am biased...I would have had Neyland Stadium #1. " From Neyland Stadium in Knoxville Tennessee...this is John Ward along with Bill Anderson bringing you the play by play."

John Ward was and is a legend. I get goose bumps thinking about the VOLS running through the "T" and hearing "Rocky Top" being played by the "Pride of the Southland" Marching Band. 107,000 screaming fans...."It's Football time..IN TENNESSEE!!!"

I go to many games at both stadiums and NEITHER are intiminating fan-wise. I think Blacksburgh, Syracuse, FSU, Texas AM, Texas, Nebraska, and Wisconsin are far more intiminating.

The title says 25 top stadiums, not 25 loudest stadiums, or the 25 stadiums with the best fans. Of course the south is going to be louder. They have newer stadiums that are built to trap noise. They also have (this is going to sound bad) percentage wise a whole lot more obnoxious drunks. All I am saying is that if I had to watch a big game I would want to watch it in one of these two stadiums.

General - Where did you get these rankings from? Do they have them for all Division I schools? Just wondering.

I dont like loud stadiums, thundersticks ruined the worldseries experinces at Big A last year. nothing worse than manufactured noise and drunk kids.

I like Sandiego State football, you could spread out and watch a good game. Same with college hoops, I would much rather watch UCI at the Bren center than Lakers at the staples center.

Of course I'm partial, but the Horseshoe in Columbus on the Banks of the Olentangy gets my VOTE for the #1 Stadium in CFB.

The classic structure was built in 1922. The place oozes with tradition - from Buckeye Grove outside the Stadium where a Buckeye Tree is planted in honor of every OSU All American; to TBDBITL coming down the ramp into the Stadium to play the Buckeye Battle Cry; to Script Ohio; the place has it all.

Before they renovated the place, there was the famous track that circled the field where the legend of Jesse Owens began.

Ohio Stadium (aka the Horseshoe) is the #1 Stadium in College Football.

General- Did the #1 ranking for Texas A+M's Kyle Field take into consideration the student's bodies that they had to pull out from that pile of logs that they unsafely built for that idiotic bonfire that they have every year?

UCLA's Rose Bowl is a cesspool....

Any one over 6 feet tall cannot
even fit themselves into the cramped
seating space. There is no leg room at all.

Greed is the only reason why
they would jam all those seats
into that garbage dump of a stadium.

The site lines completely suck as well.

Beaver stadium?

This and michigan are the two largest stadiums in the country, have a HUGE fanbase, get wild and rowdy, and are historic. How neither of these made the list, I don't know.

And for anyone who says Beaver Stadium isn't intimidating...ask Drew Brees how his Heisman run ended a few years back. I've seen many a promising quarterback exposed in State College, PA.

The Orange Bowl in Miami is great a atmosphere for big games especially at night. It really gets rocking and rolling very loud and right on top of the field. Great site lines for games. It is very old and run down but I truly feel it adds for a more of a gladiator type of feel. So many great games played by the Hurricanes and when it used to actually host "THE ORANGE BOWL GAME". The only problem was not enough luxury skyboxes and air conditioning for the fat cats so they had the move the game to Pro Player Stadium (Home of the Dolphins). Very boring and antiseptic feel very far from the field and no atmosphere there.
